Beautiful Romanesco!

"Romanesco broccoli, also known as Roman cauliflower, Broccolo Romanesco, Romanesque cauliflower or simply Romanesco, or more simply Broccoflower, is an edible flower bud of the species Brassica oleracea.

First documented in Italy, it is chartreuse in color. Romanesco has a striking appearance because its form is a natural approximation of a fractal. When compared to a traditional cauliflower, its texture as a vegetable is far more crunchy, and its flavor is not as assertive, being delicate and nutty.

The Romanesco has been grown in Italy since the 16th Century.

The local plums are slowly ripening

- but they're still at least 2-3 weeks late...

It's been a really cold and rainy summer here in Finland.

My early peonies were late!

It seems that due to the cold weather we've had, everything is late in my garden.
Now we have +20°C during the day so all the plants are catching up and growing like heck! 😊

Hopefully soon the layered Sarah Bernhardt peony will bloom, already the buds are a goodish size.
The Delphiniums are also budding... ❤️

Why is it always about waiting for something to bloom in the garden? 😁

Chucking snails over the fence?
Snails have homing instinct and will crawl (slowly) back to motherland if moved, BBC wildlife film proves

"For a creature which carries its house on its back, the need for a homing instinct might seem a little redundant.

But for the first time, scientists have proven that snails have their own territories, and will try - albeit very slowly - to make their way back if moved elsewhere..."
