New series, starting next Monday, here is part one!
Chinese Alley -- Making Of -- Cinema 4D
https://youtu.be/7za0ozspxIg

This is the reason why I was quiet here for two weeks. I have edited the series for YouTube (long version) and a very short one will be released (hopefully) soon on Cineversity.com (short means here, I took the rough cut of two hours and edited it down to sixteen one minute clips. (Hell of a work ;o)

It builds up on everything that I have shared so far on YouTube. In other words, it is kind of dense. ;o) Enjoy the ride.

Again: thanks to the create team at Cineversity, I'm happy to be part of since nine years.

I would like to create more series for photographers who like to dive into 3D in their work, especially Camera Projection and other image driven animation work. Besides that, anything Cinematography is my main thing, and next weekend I will get my tenth award for my work here alone in the US. ;o) So, if you have suggestions, lent me know.

Final Version, Chinese Alley, Background Clip

http://youtu.be/uxIiZyqh838

Practical Footage from a RED Dragon (Pasadena, CA), mixed with Camera-Projection (China Town in L.A) in Cinema 4D. Cinema 4D motion tracked the practical footage, calibrated the still for the camera projection, and delivered the tools create the set-extension with the two Dragons. The second story behind the Dragons is a set-extension (C4D as well)

In After Effects, everything was composite to one clip. This would be then used to place an actor from a green-screen shot into it.

It was another project, to explore the 6K capture, 4K or UHD delivery pipeline. Over the past years I have set up many different ways to explore a "best practice" pipeline. UHD is not just four times HD!

Presented here as HD.

A making of series will be available soon.

Enjoy!

After the current tutorial series, I think it is time for another making-of series.

This 6 sec long clip is only based on two images and some work in Photoshop and CINEMA 4D: Camera Projection :o)
My favorite technique.

[no sound]

I will show more later, and even might release a "making of" series about. My target is to expand the options photographers have.
Let me know if that sounds interesting to you.

Final Words :o)
Making Of: Music Video CV2 Dale MO 17 02

If you liked this technique and you like to dive really deep into it: I will release soon a longer and more in-depth series about Camera-Projection.
My first professional project with this technique was for an documentary (SFB, Germany), used in the opener of that movie in 1999. Since then I have used, thought and loved this option a lot. Quite some of my work got awards at International Film-Festivals.
In fact, even as I write this, I record a short series (16 part) for Cineversity.com, mostly to start the discussion about 4K/UHD for my students. ;o) It will have certainly a place in my next feature film.

Textures 1a Introduction

The complete series has three parts:
Theoretical
Capture
Post-Processing

The sub series White-Balance was created to have less repetitive information in each of my series. Please check my YouTube channel for this --Playlists.

Have fun!

After Texture, I will share two more series. Camera-Projection. First a tutorial series, and then a series based on a music video I did. The video got already an Award from an international film-festival, so it is certainly worth the work.

A Teaser, thehehe, two minutes and just an overview of fourteen+ hours. I like to flip through a book when I get a new one, first impression – similar to this clip: flipping through very quickly.

Yes, it is long, and it was quite some work to get all the set ups and examples. I have certainly developed some techniques newly, as in the other series. I love to do that and share it.

I will start very soon to upload the single parts of the series. :o)
