Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This day is celebrated as a national holiday in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland; however, it is also widely observed across the globe, especially in the UK, America, Canada and Australia.

On this day, millions of people will dress as leprechauns, consume green-coloured food and drink and attend public parades.

And, if you happen to be in Dublin, Ireland, you probably attended St. Patrick's Festival. The principal aim of St. Patrick’s Festival, since its inauguration in 1995, is to develop a major annual international festival around the national holiday over which the ‘owners’ of the festival, the Irish people, would stand proud. It sets out to reflect the talents and achievements of Irish people on many national and world stages, and it acts as an exciting showcase for the manifold skills of the people of Ireland, of every age and social background.

As the one national holiday that is celebrated in more countries around the world than any other, St. Patrick’s Day is the day when everyone wants to be Irish.

Here are dates for upcoming St. Patrick's Festivals in Dublin, Ireland:

2017: Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th March
2018: Friday 16th – Monday 19th March
2019: Friday 15th – Monday 18th March
2020: Saturday 14th – Tuesday 17th March

St. Patrick’s Day is always on 17th March.

Don't forget to use #KAYAK to book your next flight!

Squeeze in one last Ski Trip this season!

We know skiing is right up there on the list of winter #holiday activities for many Brits, so if you want to squeeze in one last trip this year, the time to do it is now!

We’ve taken a look at the most popular ski destinations in Europe based on hotel searches, then added 6 skiing essentials to reveal the best destinations for you bargain hunters out there.

For skiers who want to get big air as well as big savings, we’ve considered accommodation, rental equipment, a one day ski pass, lunch, dinner and the ever necessary après-ski aperitif.

The verdict? Germany is the cheapest country for your next ski holiday. On the opposite end of the scale, perhaps unsurprisingly, are Switzerland and France, coming in at a whopping 22% more expensive than Austria, the fourth most expensive.

It really pays to account for the costs off the slopes, including travel to and from, when choosing your final destination. Breaking it down can help you choose between the most popular destinations and some very affordable alternatives.
