Happy Thursday everyone! This image is for #JoinDaily #JoinInDaily curated by +Johnny Wills and today's theme is In A Row. This was a line up I had captured for a theme I miss a lot, #TransportTuesday and never shared. These are some older BNSF locomotives sitting in the yard at Topeka. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Hello and hope your week is starting out well. This image is for #JoinInDaily #JoinDaily curated by +Johnny Wills with today's theme of Stations. This is the station at the New Mexico end of my favorite railroad, the Cumbres & Toltec that travels from Antonito Colorado to Chama. I captured it on a summer evening the last time we were there. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

#JoinInDaily #JoinDaily curated by +Johnny Wills with the theme today of Squares. This is an older image I shot in West Virginia during my vacation travels there. I put this image in my transportation collection because that's what these barns were for. They were advertisements for people passing by in their automobiles. Mail Pouch had their home in West Virginia. I go by the town all the time but it's one of those things where, oh, I'll stop next time. Anyway, these ads were hand painted on barns in several states and were quite famous for a while but are now disappearing unfortunately. I saw this one in WV on the way back from a train ride on the Durbin Rocket. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Happy Tuesday! Here is another image from the annual Bi-plane Fly-In that is held the first weekend in June in Junction City Kansas. You can buy a ride in a Bi-plane and this is one of them that gives rides. It's a beautiful 1929 Waco built for Mohawk Airways Bi-plane. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Hello! Thought I would share this to a theme I haven't played in for a while and not sure if it is active, +TransportTuesday which was curated by +Annie Irving and +Gene Bowker . This is an image from the Annual Bi-Plane Fly-In held in Junction City, KS for the past few years on the first weekend in June. These Bi-planes were doing a bit of stunt flying at the end of the day. Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Happy Tuesday! :-) When I was on vacation this summer we visited my sister-in-law in Lafayette, Indiana. Her new home is right by the CSX rail line and trains run by fairly regularly. I can't believe I only took a couple shots the whole time. I use the excuse that it rained a lot of the time. Anyway, here is one of the decent images I was able to get. Hope you enjoy it and have a great day.

Hello! A beautiful cool mid 60s morning here in Kansas in July how lovely! I have to share one more photo from my fabulous day where I was able to have a flight on a B-17 from 1945. This is a view of the front and as I mentioned another day, it was very hard to get an image without someone in it polishing. In this shot there are 2 people doing that. LOL I took out a couple that were just standing but the man on the left walking is our pilot. He was a very nice guy who sat and chatted with us a bit before the flight took place. A good pilot as well as we had a great flight. :-) Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Morning! So, as I mentioned I got to fly on a B-17 two Wednesdays ago. It was a very cool experience and one I highly recommend. It is through the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport in Michigan. This is the front of the B-17G that they fly showing the nose art. It was built in 1945 but did not fly in the war. It was used by the Coast Guard from 1946 to 1958 for search and rescue missions. It has been restored to Combat style reediness with Machine Guns and bomb sights, etc. It was a beautiful plane and was very hard to get an image of it without someone in the photo polishing on it. I removed that person in this image. :-) Hope you enjoy the image and have a great day!

Morning all! I mentioned last week that I was going to get to do something once in a lifetime if it did not rain. Today I am sharing a couple images in one of what I got to do. The hubster and I were able to take a flight in a WWII restored B-17 bomber shown in the image with the bomb doors open. I think they did that to cool it off inside. Anyway, it was such a cool experience. 12 are allowed to go at a time but 2 did not show. We started out in the back but as soon as it took off you were allowed to get up and move about and see the different views out the plane. Obviously from the pic on the left, at one point I was standing behind the pilots. I got to sit in the Navigator's seat for landing and that was quite the view and close enough to the front for someone that does not like heights. LOL They don't bother me much in a plane though which I find weird but.... Anyway, it was a very awesome experience that I found especially exciting because I have an uncle who was a pilot of these planes during the war. So hope you enjoy the image and have a great day! The image is best viewed larger of course. :-)
