One great way to experience the pristine wilderness of Phu Quoc Island is a walk along the jungle trails near Ganh Dau up at the northwestern tip.

Curious? Check out this article here:

Where The Pepper Grows

Black pepper or Pipera nigrum is originally native to the south of India, but you can find plantations all over the tropical regions of the world. Vietnam is at the moment the biggest exporter of black pepper in the world, producing 34% of the entire pepper crop as of 2013.

Here a short article about pepper from Phu Quoc Island. Enjoy!

The An Bang Necropolis

As promised, I have this article about the magnificent necropolis of An Bang near Hue in Vietnam. A great sight, a small article and many pictures.

http://foxtravels.net/necropolis-an-bang-hue/

Enjoy!

If you are in Vietnam, you will have to use VPN, a proxy or tunnel, because everything relevant is still blocked for whatever paranoid reason.

Visitors from outside Vietnam should have no trouble accessing the site.

Necropolis

In An Bang, a place near the old imperial capital Hue in Vietnam, there is a magnificent city of tombs, devoted to the dead. Rarely something human made takes my breath, but here I was seriously impressed.

For now I only have the video itself, but there is a whole article with some background information and tons of pictures waiting to be published at http://foxtravels.net .

Unfortunately the Wanky Dankys are so concerned about their power that they shut off most of the internet connections to Europe until the national holidays are over, so I cannot publish anything at the moment.

The article will be available in a couple days I hope.

Orchids are difficult to grow, yet widely popular in Vietnam. Be it for a new opening party, a special holiday or a funeral, a pot of orchids is always welcome and a beautiful sight.

Fairy Stream

Like a miniature Grand Canyon, a small stream cuts through the sandy soil and carries white, as well as red, iron-rich clay downriver towards the ocean. The colours are a great sight and the formations are stunningly beautiful.

Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera is an opera house with a history dating back to the mid-19th century. It is located in the centre of Vienna, Austria. It was originally called the Vienna Court Opera.

Not only it is quite impressive due to its well... stately architecture, it also harbours the opera company that offers performances of classical music and more.

Definitely a place to visit when you are in Vienna and interested in classical music.

One Vietnamese Dong would be 0.000037 € nowadays. Of course before all that inflation you were able to buy something for it.

Just in comparison let's mention that a bowl of pho, that's rice noodles in a broth, costs around 30.000 VND in a non-touristy spot in Saigon.

The smallest bank note these days is 200 VND.
