This guy jumped in the picture at the last second. I have never met him before. Perhaps it's that stage in my career when people want to be photographed with me?

Mount Shasta. Out of every three climbers who attempt the summit, only one reaches it. But not before conquering the Misery Hill, which is described as a false summit. You think you have climbed to the top of Shasta only to realize you are yet to complete the most difficult stage. This is what I read at a vista point today. It made me think about my present journey and many parallel situations in life. From a distance the mountain looks like a heap of powdered sugar - to those who are not climbing it.

I am basking in the California sun, away from the pressures and expectations of the East Coast. I feel that I can follow my own creative path here, compose the kind of music I want, paint what interests me, be a better, freer version of myself.
