Getting as close to neurons as possible is helpful in reading their activity. For this exoskeleton they use a stent that is inserted through the jugular vein. I hope the upcoming tests go well for the patients that could use it.

This new garment reminds me of the Star trek shirts - and it is 'connected'.

I truly applaud this move. I originally thought that we could just engineer clean ways to continue to use fossil fuels but when you consider the costs associated with extraction, transportation, processing and ultimately well reclamation use of fossil fuels will be directed toward the most appropriate 20% not the current 80% of uses they have today.

Undergoing surgery can be risky and traumatic especially if it is to remove cancer. This new quick and non invasive tissue analysis technology will hopefully gain quick approval by the FDA leading to a dramatic reduction in patients having to undergo repeat surgeries or dying from missed cancer that continues to grow and spread.

This could be huge! The article does not discuss the process or cost of making the catalyst but giving that they are made from abundant sources hopefully they are inexpensive. I have always loved the cleanliness and pure nature of splitting water and using it as a fuel. The process could also have applications in water purification.

Just in case you were thinking of targeting a shipping receiving job, well... maybe reconsider!

http://www.wired.co.uk/article/ocado-automated-distribution-warehouse
"Hypnotic video shows thousands of autonomous crates flying through Ocado's robo-factory." Ocado is an online-only grocery company in the UK. The warehouse has 50,000 items and 190,000 customer deliveries every week. Humans never touch an item from when it is delivered to the warehouse to when a human delivery driver takes it to the customer. The warehouse was built in 2013 so much more than this should be possible for a new warehouse built today.

My personal belief is that once we ditch the idea of driving the whole experience will be transformed (as will the vehicle itself). We will be stepping into an interactive pod where we will be advertised to (if it is free or supplemented transportation), there will be all sorts of entertainment or educational options on screens that surround the passengers. For privacy you may just pop on your VR gear and zone out for a while...
All kind of cool really!

Here is an interesting throw back technology... actually talking face to face... actually it can be a lot tougher than it seems (at least for me).

Jack Uldrich posts some really great stuff - check him out.

How long to you think before this is created for more evolved species and then humans? Does a simulated reality really seem that impossible where beings are influenced and observed in the environment that is created for them.... ?

Why? Perhaps pure experience logging or entertainment. What else are you going to do when you are effectively just a huge parallel connected mind hive?
