MERCURY TRANSITS THE SUN
It was a wonderful spectacle to see our tiny planet Mercury as it passed between the Earth and the sun on May 9. Did you also observe it?

DOUBLE CLUSTER
The Double Cluster is also known as h and Chi Persei. You can see them with the naked eye in the constellation Perseus if you have a dark sky.

SUPER HARVEST BLOOD MOON
Good Morning my friends! Tonight three special moon events occurred: (1) a total lunar eclipse, (2) the Harvest Moon and (3) a Supermoon. In this image you can see a comparison between the partial phase of the eclipse (left) and the totality (right).

TRIFID NEBULA (M20)
The Trifid Nebula is an unusual combination of an open cluster of stars, an emission nebula (the lower, red portion), a reflection nebula (the upper, blue portion) and a dark nebula (the apparent 'gaps' within the emission nebula that cause the trifurcated appearance).

VEIL NEBULA (C33)
Supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. The source supernova exploded 5.000 - 8.000 years ago and since then the remnants expand to space and cover now an area that is about 6 times the diameter of the full moon. This images shows just the Eastern part of the Veil Nebula.

Technical details:
Telescope: 10" Newton
Camera: Canon EOS 60Da
Guiding: mGen
Exposures: 6 x 600sec at ISO800

Technical details:
Telescope: 10" Newton
Camera: Canon EOS 7D (unmodified)
Guiding: mGen
