You often see these oldtimers on farms in #Namibia and I could just imagine the things this truck went through in the days it was running.

My father as a teenager 1950's, only knew horses, horse-carts and a transport truck. There were in the vicinity only one car. A story he once told me about his sister getting sick through the night would be a thriller for nowadays. He had to quickly gather the horses, black-dark in the bush, ride to the neighbour farm, collect the car and then drive to town at 60 km/h. The closest town being Okahandja which is 120 km away.

It is quite crazy to see the change within 60-70 years...

#Birds in #Namibia:
Acacia Pied Barbet - Bonthoutkapper - Rotstirn-Bartvogel

Habitat: Woodlands and Savannah, especially arid thornveld.

Call: A nasal "nehh, nehh, nehh", repeated at intervals and a low-pitched "poop-oop-oop-oop".

Call: A loud, rapid "wik-wik-wik-wik" and drums very hard.
