Don't want to lose the valuable content you have created in Google+?
Here's a tutorial to export all data from a G+ community and display it via Firebase.
Example with the Google Apps Script community:
https://apps-script-community-archive.firebaseapp.com/

If you are not satisfied by the exports available via Google Takeout, don't hesitate to try this solution - it should take you 15 min to trigger the export and you don't need to install anything on your computer. Plus it's free.

Note that this method uses the Google+ API, which will start failing as soon as January 28, 2019. So I would advise to try to export your data before this date.

Also note that you can use this tutorial to export all your posts - it is not specifically restricted to a community. Here's an example with my own profile:

I've updated the G+ Exporter tool with the ability to sort by total number of plusoners, resharers and comments so you can now see what were the most popular posts in your extract.

Here's a live example with my profile:

And the tutorial if you want to make your own export of G+ content:

Happy end of year!

Here's a little story explaining how I built the G+ migration tool with Apps Script and Firebase.

I've updated the G+ migration tool to let people add and remove +1s on posts.
Here's a live example:
https://apps-script-community-archive.firebaseapp.com/

You need to sign-in first, to link the +1 to your Google account when recorded in the database.
This is just an example to show that this kind of G+ data export could be used as a real, live copy of G+ and not just a "read-only" archive.

I've updated the G+ migration tool to display all posts & comments (not just previews), very similar to the behaviour in G+.
Here are 2 live examples:
https://apps-script-community-archive.firebaseapp.com/
https://romainvialard-public.firebaseapp.com/

Other updates:
- The migration script has been updated to migrate more content in less time
- You receive an email at the end of the migration with the number of posts retrieved
- In the web app, a notification is displayed when you reach the bottom of the page and it starts to load more posts.

If you want to try the tool to migrate content out of G+, here's the tutorial:
