Osa Interactive Gardens (OIG) is a rainforest conservation and environmental education project focused on neotropical butterflies and interacting with nature. The site features a 25×35 meter enclosed butterfly habitat and botanical gardens surrounded by dense jungle only a five minute walk from central Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica. The project is still in development phases, but come take a FREE garden tour and see what we are up to!

You traveled a long way to get to PJ- No need to travel further down the dusty, bumpy roads to reach this jungle sanctuary (with the largest butterfly farm in the Osa Peninsula!). We are the only butterfly farm within walking distance of town and to the stunning calm waters of the Golfo Dulce.

O.I.G. welcomes students and researchers to carry out investigations. We recently collected botanical samples from the Ceiba or Kapok Tree (Ceiba pentandra) on site at the gardens.
