Alte Oper

Built in the late 1800s, destroyed in World War II, rebuilt in the 1950s, the Opera House in Frankfurt is a beautiful island of Renaissance architecture in the middle of Frankfurt's glitzy financial district.

Achnambeithach Cottage

Scottish names can be a mouthful, and the picturesque Achnambeithach cottage on the shores of Loch Achtriochtan certainly sets the standard in that regard. This shot is taken from the parking lot across the river from the cottage, just of the main highway in Glen Coe, Scotland.

I shot this image in the summer of 2014, but recently reprocessed it with my newly purchased VSCO film emulation presets (which are a real hoot!).

En route to Skyfall

Commemorating the upcoming release of Bond 24 aka Spectre, here's the scene Bond and M would have seen on their pit stop (https://goo.gl/q8xecU) as they drove to Skyfall Lodge, had it not been so foggy that day...

This is a 2 shot HDR from the road to Glen Etive in the Scottish Highlands. I blended the two shots manually to teach myself to use layers in Photoshop, and I finally understand why many photographers continue to do it this 'old fashioned' way rather than using algorithmic tools. The level of control you can have over the image is just astounding!

2 shots on a Canon 5D Mark II with the 24-105mm f/4L lens at 24mm, f/9, (1/60s and 1/120s), ISO125

Lonely Cottage

This picturesque cottage sits all alone at the foot of Buachaille Etive Mor, a defining landmark in the Glen Coe valley (Exact location - https://goo.gl/maps/dh8ZHuvXugt). This particular view of the cottage greets hikers at the trail head to the hike from Glen Coe to Kinlochleven on the West Highland Way, just down the road from the Glencoe Youth Hostel.

Hiking the West Highland Way

A 3 shot panorama shot on the West Highland Way between Kings House and Kinlochleven, in the Glen Coe region of the Scottish Highlands. The Blackwater reservoir, one of the few man-made bodies of water in the region, is visible in the distance.

The Shard

London has a pretty flat, unimpressive skyline, which makes the Shard an especially imposing structure. This shot was taken from near the back entrance, just across the street from the famous (and awesome) Borough Market.
