St George's Hall #Liverpool  same as my previous black and white shot but this time shot on #ColourFilm  This shot clearly emphasises how the upper parapet wall is illuminated with much brighter and colder lighting than the main hall. https://www.stuartbrownphotographic.com

Architecture in #spring  here is an example of why it's important to revisit architectural subjects throughout the year. #Southwater  One in #Telford  (completed autumn 2014) overlooks the Cherry Garden in Telford Town Park, revisiting the building in spring 2016 I was able to capture the building with it's gold coloured cladding behind blossom laden trees and blooming flowers both in the pond and on the boardwalk. https://www.stuartbrownphotographic.com

Honouring the creators of the Built Environment is the motto of https://www.stuartbrownphotographic.com In this black and white night image of St Georges Hall in #liverpool  I honour amongst others, the #architect   who designed the hall, the #stonemason  who carved the column, the #ironworker  who cast the water fountain and the #electrician  who installed the lighting. The circular cut out is an extract from the main image which has been crafted to produce 24"x30" prints at 300dpi resolution, i.e. 64.8 megapixels scanned from large format film.

Birmingham Library #CentenarySquare   #Birmingham     shot in the January sunshine. This building was a runner up in the 2014 RIBA Stirling awards for #architecture This image portrays the asymmetric arrangement of the building around it's circular core and how the first floor projects over the ground floor to provide an outdoor space protected from the weather. The feature steelwork around the building exterior is to reflect Birmingham's famous #jewelleryQuarter

Darby #house  and #Viaduct  crossing the stream which provided water to Abraham Darby's blast furnace where the process of #manufacturing   #iron  and #steel  using #coke  was first invented. The preserved blast furnace just out of shot dates from 1638 and was extended by Abraham Darby in 1777 possibly in preparation to manufacture the steel for the worlds first iron bridge built in 1779. The railway viaduct was used until recently to transport coal to the nearby Buildwas power station which was closed a few days before this photograph. #Coalbrookdale   #Ironbridge   #Darbyhouses   http://www.stuartbrownphotographic.com
