Always wondered what the heck to do with some members email.

Then as the local council held public meetings everyone was requested to forward their emails.

Went to fairs and Agricultural and Pastoral shows selling balloons and painting faces once again and now everyone was swapping emails. Just about as regular as children swapping collection cards.

Thing is no one ever explained the process to me. Must admit I never thought to ask either.

Oh now I wish I had found and connected to people via their emails.

Took a few years and finally just what was meant to happen to the email was learned. And Yes practiced.

With the report in front of me the instructions and reading was like reading a story. Presented in simple worded format so many people like me tried analyzing the report to pieces. In fact this confused the simple message within the report.

If you are still looking for solutions to contacting people and bringing them into your community development projects then read this report. And simply action the steps with either the tools you have already. Better yet are seats of integrated tools and apps such is available within the few links within.

Love to hear from you in the meantime about where you're members are going within the community around you.

Yours sincerely

Susan Lewis

Wondered around totally lost for over fifteen years wondering how to make this internet stuff work.

Saw in Facebook as a New BeE platform. Knew people were using Facebook , then Twitter and Pinterest to push their message out there.

But figuring it all out while being a busy mum, family member, volunteer in the community and going to school myself .... well the computer was something to be dealt with, learned about a lot later.

Later though chose to come sooner. The voluntary things needed communication between people on the ground. The people near home and in the wider community.

Email significance just escaped me. Other than passing them onto head office that is.

Nearly twenty years of frustration over falling numbers, miscommunication, escalating costs and total frustration later was still looking for solutions

Biggest mystery out was "what was a list?' that people were talking about. Associating the members list to incorporate the other relatives contact emails, business and supporting companies and businesses, the friends and relatives in the wider area would have been so much easier had I known what a list was.

Turns out the uses of the lists were more than just keeping people informed. Sharing the meetings information was only a small part of everything this 'list' would and does do.

That stated.... enjoy the read. Amazingly time has passed by and the learning has caught up.

Running an active meeting time, organising an event, sending out birthday invitations and reminding people of what to bring on a camp... and what to do on the first day back. Boy would I have liked the information then as is available now.

Sincerely

Susan

P.S. Thankfully there is an invitation to a list building report enclosed within.

Both reading the report and then actioning what was suggested has made things easier this end .

Cheers

Mesmerized , open mouthed and definitely overwhelmed the video series answered so many questions.

Impossible though it seems but before the internet was available here the communities were literally run with "telephone trees" and pen and paper.

Same goes with the attitudes to change.

Seemed everyone was spellbound and just staggered with the big boxy things people called dinosaur DoS programes. Or the newest updated version of Windows 7.

Pack Man was all the rage. Videos and hand head radios blasted all around. Competing with walkmans and getto blasters.

What has changed?

The computer came into homes. Then the telephones. Laptops and now this!

Attitude: SOOOOO much to think about. From early life everything that is thought about is recorded in our brain.

A brain that does not know truth from lie. What is is and since you accepted that information by not refuting it .... then what gets through will just stay there. Coloring our decision making process.

Rocking the self esteem by talking "IT ' self out of going forward. Get your thoughts out there.

Sincerely

Susan

Right now there is a heck of a lot of hullabaloo about life. Usually someone else's life. So why not just use our own life's lessons and get a move on on our own journey?

Yes the greatest test is when you are able to bless someone else while you are going through you're own storm. A lesson learned from a dear older lady met twenty five years ago.

A lady who as a child in the late 1920's hoped into the tires and rolled down the hills of Mirboo North. And no one other than her best friend from all those years ago knew about those times.

So much joy this lady had in life her singing was like the BellBird she was know through out the Girl Guiding world as. Yet having shared a life of wonder, joy and sadness combined Kath was able to sit just wait there for you to enter her calmness and settle just one more time. One special second in time when she saw into your eyes and you new she was right.

Just "Take life lessons learned and act on them."

these are so real that everyone is doing them. Usually without knowing what the process is that is being completed.
