This, right here, is what separates the good NSX laps from the average NSX laps.
In the NSX, the driver can get back on the power BEFORE the Apex. That's amazing, and I think that's what stumps most of these drivers.

The NSX easily keeps up with a GT-R Nismo (with which the driver has had more experience) even outperforming it in many visible aspects of the race (like corner exit.)

The most interesting part of this race is at the very beginning when the NSX launches much faster than the Nismo taking a massive lead. (All reports claim the NSX should've be roasted by the Nismo, but I call bullshit.)
I think this shows that the NSX is capable of doing sub 3 seconds launches and sub 11 second 1/4 miles.

Now, for the Tsukuba circuit score board:
We can see where the NSX has placed and it's very apparent that a faster lap is possible just by examining the cars that have place ahead of it. (Original R35, 458, we even have seen the NSX outperform the R35 Nismo on a few occasions.

The most interesting thing is how close the NSX is to the 991 911 Turbo S. This isn't the first time the NSX has lapped right with the Turbo S either. I think the NSX has more to give in several other comparisons now.

NSX First Official Nurburgring time! BUT, is it accurate?
Tl;dr: NSX is capable of at least a 7:30 at most a 7:18, or a 7:24.9 according to averages.

Let's delve into the world of Manufacture conducted tests vs Journalist conducted tests.

So, a 7:36 is a commendable time for the New NSX and it shows when compared to the other cars tested by SportAuto.

However, as we all know, manufacturer tests will always be faster for many reasons. The biggest of these being the skill of the drivers that manufacturers have access to.

Many of you will say, or are saying that, the NSX should be faster than a 7:36. To that I say "You're onto something."

You'd think that the NSX natural ability to exit corners blindingly fast would earn it a very low time. The truth is, as I've said many times, it's only effective if it's being used properly.

What's very apparent is that the guys conducting these tests aren't known for getting the absolute best lap time possible out of a car (If their lap in the 918 doesn't make that apparent, I don't know what will.)

So what I've decided to do is look at all the laps they've done vs the fastest laps by each individual vehicle to try and get a rough estimate of how much more the NSX has in it:

GT2 RS. 7:24. 7:18. -6s
610-4. 7:28. 7:28. S.A. is the only lap.

V10 Plus. 7:32. 7:32. S.A. is the only lap.
Turbo S. 7:34. 7:26. -8s
650S. 7:35. 7:35. S.A. is the only lap.
AMG GTS 7:36. 7:35. Negligible.
GT-R. 7:36. 7:19. -17s
M4 GTS. 7:37. 7:27. -10s
LFA. 7:38. 7:38. S.A. is the only lap.
NSX-R. 8:09. 7:56. -13s

So, if we get the average of the 7 relevant times it comes out to -11.1 average improvement when the cars are in the hands of professionals.

We can also safely determine that the NSX is actually between 6 and 17 seconds faster than what SportAuto was able to demonstrate.

I think it's insane to believe it's any slower than 7:29 considering the lap times of the new ZL1 and GT-R and the clear weight and technology advantages the NSX has over both of them.

I think it's only sane and reasonable to deduce that the NSX is capable of a lap time in the 7:24.9 area. Quite possibly faster considering that outliar 7:19 GT-R lap time.
