Sherbrooke Lake, Yoho National Park, BC, Canada

I have so many photos from the summer Canada adventure. This one is a long exposure of the view from Sherbrooke Lake with +George Marquardt and +Rob Patterson. It's so nice to have photog friends on adventure because you can take time to set up slow shots like this while they're doing their own thing. In this case, Rob did his nap thing under a tree to the right of this scene. :P

Sunset on Lake Vermilion

I finally stitched (well, PS did) together a pano of Lake Vermilion, with a cloud-veiled Mt. Rundle in the background, that was shot on my last evening in Alberta with +George Marquardt and +Rob Patterson. There are probably a million of similar images out there, since this is right at a convenient scenic spot along the Trans-Canada Highway. Still, I'm thinking of printing it large as a triptych for the living room , so I can think of George and Rob every time I pass by it. :D

On Piggy Plus

I've been meaning to explore the video feature of my camera more but keep forgetting to do it, and feeling kind of upset that I didn't properly make any on this recent trip to the Canada wilderness, even though I had my tripod with me. And I don't know why I decided to make this video clip by holding the lens barrel while standing on a mountain peak with little space to move around. :D But since I did it, I thought what the heck, it may give a better perspective of this location than some of the photos I've shared. I do apologize for the jerky movement (I had to trim out a section in the middle that was really jerky). Around 12-13 second in, you can see +George Marquardt and +Rob Patterson at the bottom middle of the screen, discussing the plan to scramble up the peak.

ETA: Just noticed that you can playback at a lower speed, which would actually help in this case. :D

The Tree in Zion

Well, not The Tree but one of the many many trees in Zion National Park. :) But this one stands out in this POV from under a bridge...probably not much longer unfortunately...

Have you been to Zion NP? I was there for the first time last year and looking forward to coming back one day. What a magical place.

Take me to church of the long run Sunday.

Today is one of those days I desperately need to pull myself out of the hole and get out there to clear my head. It's 45 degree, sunny, 30mph breeze - perfect February day for a long run. :D Hopefully I'll come back in better shape...

Is anyone else venturing outside today? +Chinh Luong, you running?

Autumn Holdout

One of the very few landscape shots I've captured this Autumn. I saw this tree while out on a trail run and actually remembered to come back with my camera. I wanted to capture more of the lake in this composition but since it was kinda plain I decided to toss a rock to stir things up a bit. But you can just pretend I caught the moment after a fish made the ripple. :P
