Sun's warming touch - A Pacific Harbor Seal (Phoca vitulina richardii) enjoys the warming rays of the early morning sun.

The image is not upside down, rather, it is the view I had as I looked down upon the seal from above.

With such a profound biomass in the Monterey Bay it is not unusual to see signs of the circle of life. Here is a fairly rare sighting of what looks to be a Spiny Dogfish, it's size suggests it is a mature Squalus Acanthias and has lived for around 10 years.
