Just picked up a Nest Thermostat Gen-3 for my new house. I was worried that it wouldn't be able to set up without internet connection, but it did. If you look closely you can see my son in the center of the pic.

LetsEncrypt is quickly becoming a standard on the web
In the last week, my first three certificates expired, marking 3-months since I started using this free service. I encourage everyone to use this for their personal sites or sites which are using old/antiquated encryption methods. A LetsEncrypt protected site uses the latest in encryption technology, which is better than about 1/2 of the existing SSL/TLS protected websites out there.

This makes me very proud of my donations to the EFF.

Bluetooth Battery Charger
I have yet to experience a time that addition of Bluetooth didn't make things better... Thinking about it, there really isn't anything that wouldn't benefeit from Bluetooth and some additional electronics.

This is the EFest 6-bay Charger. I picked it up on Amazon Prime for $50 shipped. http://www.amazon.com/Efest-LUC-Blu6-BlueTooth-Intelligent/dp/B010W7K0MS

All the games from MS Dos
These are the games I grew up playing.  Of course there was NES, but these games were the best ones of the time.  Archive.org has made all of these games absolutely free and available online now.

$50 Nexus Player On Amazon Prime Now
Here's a good deal from Amazon. The Nexus Player only costs $50. It is double the price on Google. The really cool thing here; this is Amazon Now, and it can be delivered in 1 hour. Although I already have one, I thought it would be worth mentioning to you guys.

Amazon Prime Now is Awesome!
Prime Now service just became available in my area. After searching the house for my Surface Pen, which my son lost, I decided to check on Amazon Prime Now. They had one in stock, so I won't be out of luck for my meeting tomorrow.

Check out those delivery times though... On a Sunday, none-the-less!

Microsoft just announced Windows Phone 10  runs Windows 10 Desktop apps with a "Desktop Dock".  Just like Ubuntu Unity.

One of the biggest problems in Machine Learning is the probability factor. As mentioned in the article, feed a machine a picture of a cat and there's a 60% probability of a cat identification. I think the best approach to AI will come once there are several independent AIs which can take input, then the results could be averaged.

Once machines are able to average results on their own, the machines could positively and negatively reinforce themselves and machines could learn from other machines. They could teach themselves.

For now we need a unification protocol which could be used to train Expert Systems and bounce data off of said systems. The structure for this is forming at Google with simple things such as email and categorization of mundane things in JSON.

Something tells me we will need a much larger schema.org. http://schema.org/docs/schemas.html
A semantic learning approach shows some success in image classification tasks during machine learning

I'd love to get one of these, but for some reason it's iPhone only. Who does that? Even the timing on this is a bad idea. People with iPhones and extra money are spending it on new iPhones right now.
