While we're here, let's answer a few other things you might be wondering about, shall we?

• How often will a new episode come out? You never know! It'll always be a surprise. But I can promise you this: Every episode will be served up fresh, hot, and somewhat greasy.

• Why so sporadic? So you'll always have something to look forward to! (And also, you know, so I'll have the time to find great guests and put together interesting and original shows amidst everything else I do.) Plus, one new show every now and then won't take up too much of your time. Android Intelligence isn't meant to be an alternative to the Android podcasts you already know and love but more of a supplement to them -- a spicy and slightly high-calorie side dish to add some extra flavor to your favorite listening entrees. Bon appetit!

• Why it is an audio-only show? No video?! Android Intelligence believes in a fully pants-optional podcasting environment. Maintaining an audio-only format allows the program to support that worthwhile cause (both for the host and guest and for you, the listeners --  hey, we're all equals here).

• What's up with the sponsors? This podcast is my own personal effort, so having the support of sponsors on some episodes is what makes it possible. I assure you, though, that I am extremely selective in hand-picking companies that I genuinely believe in and feel good about recommending. That aside, I'll always clearly disclose when I'm discussing a sponsor, and I'll work only with sponsors that have no direct overlap with anything I cover from an editorial perspective. Avoiding any conflict of interest (or even the potential perception of that) is something I take very seriously. You have my word on this.

• Can I help support the show? Aw, shucks -- you're a good friend! I might consider some sort of listener support arrangement in the future, but for now, the best way you can support the show is simply by subscribing and also helping to spread the word to your family, friends, neighbors, enemies, pets, plants, robots, rodents, roofers, groupers, groupies, and anyone else who might enjoy listening.

• I have no further questions. Thank goodness. I thought you'd never stop yapping.

See the rest of the posts in this collection for links to the latest shows. Happy listening!

A new episode of Android Intelligence -- featuring Nova Launcher developer +Kevin Barry and Action Launcher developer +Chris Lacy!

One show, two developers! Some great discussion here about how a couple of Android's best and most beloved launchers came to be -- plus some broader chit-chat about what it actually takes to make a living from Android, what sorts of challenges you run into as an independent developer on the platform, and the good and bad of Google's ongoing changes to the software.

The fellas also shared some interesting thoughts on the future of Android and how Google might eventually pivot its strategy for the operating system (hint: It involves bringing even more consistency to the core user experience, but not in the way you might think).

So what are you waiting for? Come hang out with us already. More info and everything you need to stream or download is at the link below.

A new episode of Android Intelligence -- featuring Android co-founder Rich Miner!

For this latest podcast, I had the chance to sit down and chat with one of the guys who actually started Android and played a pivotal role in shaping the platform.

Rich shared some anecdotes I'd never before heard, including how the vision for Android came to be and how the platform almost had two separate parts -- one of which never lived to see the light of day.

We talked about his work since leaving Android, too, and his unique perspective on the mobile tech landscape as one of Alphabet's startup advisers.

Believe you me, gang: This is a show worth listening to. More info and everything you need to stream or download is at the link below.

The first episode of Android Intelligence -- and what a way to start!

The podcast you've been waiting for is here! In this inaugural episode, I sit down for a one-on-one chat with Google's recently appointed chief of Android, Chrome OS, and Chromecast -- the one and only Mr. +Hiroshi Lockheimer.

He shares tales about the early days of Android along with some straight talk about Android N's early arrival, the state of Android upgrades, and the future of Chrome OS.

Come have a listen, won't ya? More info and everything you need to stream or download is at the link below.
