MODERN – SURF is an ongoing fine art surf collection. My goal is to create something unique that separates myself from other surf photographers, by creating fine art rather then journalism style photos. The blurred look you see is mostly created in camera, by doing long exposures creating shutter drag. I use software like Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to give it that dark mono look which I like to call ‘Modern’. I am always trying to perfect and adapt this style which gets me excited to keep it going. When you look at this series, you can really focus in and get to see the connection between the surfer and the power of the ocean.

Finally decided to release the 3rd batch to my ongoing Modern-Surf Collection. Most of you have probably already noticed, as I have started sharing them over the past few days. Been sitting on these for awhile though. Every time I create a new version to this series, it gets me more and more excited to keep perfecting it with the next one.

Modern - Snow 
Throwback to a shot from my first 'Modern' series, Modern-Snow. This was taken back in 2008 on a Canon PowerShot, yup a good ol' Point and Shoot camera. This was in the Bugaboos on a heli-skiing trip. The Bugaboos is a mountain range in the Purcell Mountains of eastern British Columbia, Canada.

Don't Look Back
I had to look back at this image that I took, last summer in Hawaii. It pretty much sums up my past few weeks, just insane to say the very least. I guess I gotta see if I can out run it and stay ahead! 

Looking into the next few months, exciting projects seem to be piling up. Not sure how much sleep I will get, but I will be able to relate to this surfer trying to beat the crashing waves!
