I'm still going through some of my photos from the past week around Stellenbosch here in South Africa. One of the most scenic moments was the drive along Clarence Drive at sunset. Such a beautiful part of the region!

These children are so well behaved, sitting quietly for a lesson at the neighbourhood crèche in the Kayamandi community in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Their mothers are teenagers who are at school across the road. But don't be fooled by my black and white photo - there was a lot of colour and energy when the kids were playing!

If you're ever in Stellenbosch, take a trip to the community with a woman called Thembi - a great experience.

The colorful houses of the Bo-Kaap community in Cape Town, South Africa.

It was formerly known as the Malay Quarter and still has a lot of descendants of people from South East Asia who were brought here as workers.

The houses are painted by the owners and it isn't subsidised by the government. It's done for pride.

The view from the window of the helicopter taking me from Stellenbosch to Cape Town. What a beautiful coastline - and what a way to transfer to the airport! Thanks to Civair.

How did I get to Cape Town airport today, I hear you ask... I'm glad you did.

I got a helicopter transfer from Stellenbosch!!!

Cruising along the coast, with Table Mountain on the horizon, an incredible way to finish such a fun week in the region with #Stellenblog. Thanks to Civair for the flight!

What a great afternoon cooking with Faldela Tolker at her house in the Bo-Kaap area of Cape Town.

She welcomes guests in and teaches them all about the Cape Malay cuisine, which has its origin in countries like Malaysia and Indonesia.

Kids and grandkids all got involved and I was pretty impressed with the chicken curry and samosas we made together.

Leaving the #Stellenblog homestead this morning. This has been a very pleasant place to stay for a few nights. I never got a chance to try this pool - but I certainly soaked up these magnificent views of South Africa every day.

I've got a couple more things planned in this region and then off to Durban this evening!

Reflections. The theme of an outside art collection in the streets of Stellenbosch. Many of the pieces have a recognisable South African influence in them.

Discovered on a food and walking tour with Bites and Sites.

I've seen some beautiful wineries around Stellenbosch this week with mountain views, tables by lakes, and innovative architecture.

But it's nice to also find a small trendy winery right in Stellenbosch city. +Brampton Wine Studio has got a great vibe and reasonably priced drinks.
