Cervo, Italy

We went for a walk around the tiny village of Cervo on the Ligurian coast in Italy yesterday. We discovered this terrace and the apartment that goes with it is for sale. Any takers? Can’t you just imagine sitting here and sipping a Spritz was looking out to sea?

Loano, Liguria, Italy

This pretty seaside town has been almost completely renovated over the last few years and now boasts a beautifully restored pedestrian main street and a boardwalk full of art that runs along beside the town beaches.

Definitely worth a visit!

Jouvenceaux, Italy: More Than A Place To Just Store Your Skis

Yes, you read the title right: the very french sounding village named Jouvenceaux is in Italy! It’s very close to the border with France though. You can drive over to France in about 15 minutes, and even ski across if you’re feeling mildly adventurous. You can come virtually visit this beautiful village nestled in the mountains with me on my blog this week.

I love the sign below as it show the multilingualism of the area.

How many languages can you see?

Snowy Mount Seguré, Susa Valley, Italy

I took this photo last week from our balcony as the last rays of the setting sun caught the cloud of snow blowing off the top of Mt Seguré in Susa Valley, Italy. The mountain looks very imposing from this angle, but I have been told by people with the motivation to climb it, that the other side of it is just a long, almost flat slope. The mountain range here forms a natural border between France and Italy. When you go hiking in this area, you can pass backwards and forwards between the two countries multiple times in a day without even realizing it!

Jouvenceaux, Susa Valley, Italy

This small village in the mountains of Italy near the french border has recently been restored. There’s a skilift right beside the village that takes you up to one of the largest ski areas in Europe.

For all those non-skiers out there, there are plenty of walks to do, and a few fantastic cafés and restaurants where you can drink your cappuccino while sitting in the sun!

Visiting Segesta In Sicily

One of the most stunning buildings I saw when we visited the Western part of Sicily last year (yes, this post has been a long time in coming!) was this ancient Doric temple ruin near the small town of Calatafimi-Segesta, near the slopes of Mt Barbaro.

The Segesta archaeological area is the site of a well-preserved Greek temple, an ancient amphitheatre and the ruins of a mosque and Islamic necropolis. You can see thousands of years of history all in one place!

You can read all about it on:

The Dolomite Mountains, Italy

The photo below is taken in the picturesque village of San Candido in the Dolomite mountains in the North-East Of Italy. The area is very interesting as it is bilingual German and Italian, and the food is fantastic! You get the best German cakes , alongside great Italian pizza and coffee. Not only that, but the scenery is outstanding!
