Authentic Palakkad Cuisine Recipe

🌱Rice with Molagootal 😋😋😋 served along with ⠀
🌱 Thengai Podi { Coconut Powder mix}⠀
🌱 Puli Ingi { Tamarind Ginger Condiment }⠀
🌱 Spicy Lemon Pickle ⠀
🌱 Nendran Banana Chips { Sweet Banana Chips} ⠀ 🌱Buttermilk with curry leaves⠀

Well this is exactly how I served Molagootal at home over the weekend .. Ooops a mixed vegetable salad is missing from the picture here. ⠀

Pressure cook vegetables { carrots, potatoes, chayote into small uniform pieces along with some green peas and drumsitcks in length} + Tuvar Dal + Turmeric Powder with enough water. Set aside. ⠀
Grind coconut, cumin seeds + ( dried red chilli - optional) - set aside. ⠀
On medium heat, To a large saucepan, add cooked vegetables,coconut paste and salt . . Add a little more water to adjust the consistency. Prepare tempering - to 1 tsp Coconut Oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and red chilli and add them over Molagootal before serving. ⠀
