Still in the make - not finished - first test. Several bad notes, I am not used to diatonic fretboards either...

Latest cigar box guitar I built from an 'antique' cigar box from 1930's.
Check out the product page http://www.plankguitars.com/products/karel-i-regalia/

Currently strung with acoustic guitar strings and tuned to D-A-D. This is first a quick acoustic recording. Another 'plugged in' demo will follow.

Added electronics. i chose to have the pots for volume and tone on the bottom of the guitar, not to affect the original design/logo on the top of the old box. Still need to fix some grounding/hum issue before I play it too loud ;-)

This is made from an old cigar box from the Karel factory in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Not sure about the age of the box itself, but I guess it's from the '30's.

The 'Santa Muerte' cigar box guitar that I had built earlier in December got picked up by its new owner - here he's trying it out for the first time

Not done yet. I just put it together to get a feel of how it sounds at this point. WIll take it apart later and install fretwire, probably make a sound hole, maybe a different bridge, and electronics.

Just testing it out, minutes after soldering. Pardon the bad notes, hope it gives an idea of the timber/sounds you can get out of this.

This guitar is now done, for more info see the full product page http://www.plankguitars.com/products/old-dutch-mill-cookie-tin-guitar/
