Thelma Schoonmaker, who cuts for Martin Scorsese, talks about editing Silence.
Aside from the art itself, I find it very interesting she uses Lightworks, whereas the industry as a whole is dominated by Avid. I've used Lightworks occasionally because it's the one decent editing platform that runs on Linux. But I'm clumsy with it, I feel like I can't do anything as quickly or as smoothly and that my favorite features are missing. On the other hand, I rock on Avid. It's hard to tell if that's due to my lack of time in the saddle with Lightworks, or if Avid is really the more complete platform.
