While Homeland Security won't detail what technology the Secret Service is using, there are hints from companies developing their own countermeasures.

Desmond, now vice president of business development at DroneShield, says his company has "high-tech listening" technology to eliminate false alarms, and that can detect and then take control of an incoming enemy drone.
With millions gathering in Washington D.C. for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, there's a potential threat high up in the sky many won't see.

+Totally a Human You will not get a truck to where it would have to go, unless it had wings.

A plane could be nearly silent. My current UAV can handle 9 pounds, travels at close to 60, is 800 mm in size and is quite enough not to be heard by most at 400 feet.

This is however over kill for what could be done.

In D.C. the biggest defense against this is that it is a no fly zone for anything. The bigger danger would have been protest flights of a flock of cheap UAVs.

It would have been interesting if they understood enough to turn off the cell phone towers, the biggest threat of all.

+Screw Muggz as for the super expo I'd be tempted to leave that at zero to help minimize confusion when tuning. I feel like if you are increasing the Expo with super expo you would be reducing your sticks perceivable travel by peaking the power before it got to it's endpoint. It's like having a transmitter with smaller gimbles.

There's a good chance that some quadcopter enthusiasts heading to the capital this Friday intent on capturing some aerial footage of Donald Trump's inauguration are unaware of the rules, or simply hoping they can sneak in a quick flight.
The security services will have enough on their plate at Donald Trump's inauguration on Friday without having to deal with a load of hobbyist drone pilots trying to get some aerial footage of the event. So it's warning people to leave their UAVs at home.

Drone racing combines drone technology with virtual reality. The pilots wear goggles that allow them to see what the drone “sees” as it flies up to 80 miles per hour on elaborate racecourses.  It’s called “first person view” or FPV racing.  Schaer’s racing name is Johnny FPV.

When he’s not racing, Schaer creates YouTube videos to promote himself and the sport.
Explore the hot new sport of drone racing and meet the suburban man who is one of the best in the world.

The Breeze comes with a 4K-capable camera (30fps) on board, though there are several important caveats to bear in mind. First, there is no stabilizing gimbal, so the steadiness of your video is directly proportional to your skills as a pilot. Recognizing that the newcomer won’t have those piloting skills yet, the Breeze includes a host of preprogrammed auto-flying modes that go a long way toward improving stability and therefore video quality. There’s also some built in digital stabilization, but, and here’s the second caveat: digital stabilization only works with 1080p video, not 4K footage. While the Breeze clearly wants to tout its 4K capabilities, they’re of limited usefulness without stabilization.
With the new Breeze 4K, Yuneec has launched a drone made just for newcomers.

Drone delivery startup Flirtey has raised $16 million in Series A funding to bring its high-flying service to new customers, companies and possibly countries. Earlier, the startup raised $120,000 in seed funding and participated in the Y Combinator accelerator. Flirtey was also the first company to attain FAA approvals to conduct a drone delivery in the US in 2015. That fact helped it land one of its drones in the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, a milestone that CEO Matthew Sweeny calls a “kittyhawk” moment for the startup.

The Phantom 4 is no more, the shortest lifespan to date for a DJI product, born March 2016 terminated January 2017. Just ten months. The normal Phantom 4 is almost obsolete since the Mavic got introduced and is more than obsolete since the Phantom 4 Pro got introduced, with its superior camera. I think the sales have dropped down to almost zero meanwhile, so the available stock is more than big enough to satisfy the market.

The Federal Aviation Administration announced today that it will fine SkyPan International of Chicago, a drone company, $200,000 for conducting 65 illegal drone flights in congested airspace over Chicago and New York City. It’s the largest civil penalty the FAA has issued against a drone operator to date.
In October, the FAA proposed a $1.9 million fine, but today announced the fine would only be $200,000.

Hey, hey..... We are just stating our opinions, this only a discussion. No need to treat this like a rigged election. But yes, you can say what you want, I am just telling you that this is just a group discussion, nothing else.
