For much of my life, I have had #eatinghabits which were not #healthy. I love pastries. Back before I ‘got religion’ I would think nothing of eating a #scone for #dessert. This was following a meal of 1500 to 2000 calories. It is no surprise that I ballooned up at my worst to the 220 pound area with a plus 40 inch waist. A note of clarification is in order. My mother died at the end of August 2009 in her 90s. The time I spent with her in her final years was very difficult for me as I was witnessing her body as well as her mind failing her. At the end she needed help to stand up. This was difficult enough for me to deal with as her son, I couldn’t help but think that I was looking at my own future. That’s one reason I have been religiously doing everything in my power to slow the aging, degeneration, process in my own body. #aging #brain #exercise #relaxation #weight

*You can have high blood pressure, or hypertension, and still feel just fine, according to the National Institute on Aging (NIA). That’s because high blood pressure often does not cause signs of illness that you can see or feel. But, high #bloodpressure, sometimes called “the silent killer,” is very common in older people and a major health problem. #alcohol #smoking #sleep #exercise #aging

A while back a major Scandinavian study showed that consumption of moderate amounts of #alcohol reduced the incidence of rheumatoid arthritis by 50%. That might be true, But, don’t misinterpret those results. Drinking can only help prevent the development of Rheumatoid arthritis; it works just the opposite if you already have the disease. #aging #arthritis #exercise #health @OledaBaker#stroke #weight
