This is the current version of the encounter roller for Hot Springs Island overland encounters.

Instructions:
1. Click on this link: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0B2vRPHp5ZV31a2hTSlZCYkE3Tlk&export=download
2. You'll get a popup saying "You have chosen to open: Hot Springs Encounter Zip.zip".
3. Save the file somewhere you can find it
4. Unzip the file
5. Open the new folder
6. Double click on encounter.html
7. Tap on a hex to get an encounter.

Some of the NPCs results have had their names changed and I haven't updated the files, but I'm sharing it anyway. I should also probably add their page number.

Since this is ultimately just a webpage, you should be able to use it on your computer, a tablet, or even your phone. But I'm not going to guarantee that yet.

A number of people have volunteered to help with this, and I'd like to say that y'all are super awesome, but I'm not sure what to ask for help wise at the moment because I'm still not 100% certain of what I want with this. But it's up towards the top of my list of stuff to do. So expect that more info and updates and whatnot will be forthcoming.

"Ok guys, this isn't really going to be that realistic but it should be cool enough that it won't matter I think... Over on the south side of the island there'll be a lava river that's like paving over the jungle and stuff, and it should still be hot and actively flowing. Idea is that Svarku is routing the excess lava out of the volcano to preserve his sweet digs."

Several years later Pele is all "Not realistic? Check this out hun:" https://volcanoes.usgs.gov/observatories/hvo/multimedia_uploads/multimediaFile-2249.mp4

Steam clouds of glass shards. How did I miss this?!?!
This river of lava cutting through green fields in Pahoa, Hawaii is absolutely fascinating. Thankfully, no one has been killed. Related article talks about clouds of glass shards: http://www.startribune.com/lava-from-kilauea-volcano-enters-ocean-creates-toxic-cloud/483178511/

No Rest, but learn valuable information
I added a Shopping list* for the Martel Ships, Night Axe Outposts, and Svarku's Lair. It's on page 5 of my HSI reference.

Maybe it will help your shopping-obsessed players.

The combustarinos here are absolute perfection as far as I'm concerned.
New post! Finally, almost six months (!!!!!) after its preceding session, we return to the exploits of my real-life crew on Hot Springs Island!

+Jacob Hurst they referred to the Field Guide as the Pokedex, which further cements it as one of the best ideas around, in my estimation.

I am seriously considering doing a Kickstarter so that I can commission illustrations of every point of interest on Hot Springs Island. The plan would be to release digital files for use with something like Roll20 (along with an assortment of battle maps) and then a physical set of postcards for all the locations. Front of the postcard would be an image, back would have the location writeup and potentially encounter tables.

Bad idea? Good idea? M'eh?

A very kind and lengthy review of "The Hot Springs Island Suite" or "Swordfish Islands 1: Hot Springs Island".
