The Guild of Dungeoneering may be a videogame but it is a great example of how tabletop gaming has been wonderfully, exuberantly, explodingly increasing in popularity amongst gamers of all ages and preferences. This means that at least several tabletop titles and/or gameplay mechanics are finding their way unto our computer and mobile screens.

"The Great Whale Road is described by its creators – Sunburned Games – as a story-driven tactical RPG. While that description does a good job at condensing the game’s main characteristics into as few words as possible, it doesn’t really describe to the fullest what type of game The Great Whale Road actually is. That’s what this review will do, so pack a lunch and your favorite beverage, we’re going exploring The Great Whale Road."

"Age of Decadence is an indie cRPG basically made for those of us who want to immerse ourselves in the history and lore of a strange world. Set into one of the more peculiar post-apocalyptic settings you’ll see, this game seems to be aimed at those RPG players who really love role playing and prefer to solve problems without having to roll for Initiative, if they can help it."

"Dustbowl is an indie offering that blends together the basics of adventure games and RPGs, sets them in a post-apocalyptic world, then makes use of the most ancient of 8-bit style graphics to present the blend which ends up being quite a compelling experience.

It’s definitely a game that rewards exploration. One of the major attractions when it comes to a post-apocalyptic setting – from my point of view – is to see how the world operates, to explore the surrounding environment and see what I can do with it."

King of Dragon Pass brings to the table something of the interactivity inherent in a more tabletop, pen and paper medium. The game acts as both setting and GM of sorts, placing you in charge of your own feudal era clan.

It offers a mix of equal parts strategy game, resource management game and role-playing game. All of which are very well tied together by the interactive storytelling component. #kingofdragonpass #medieval #fantasy #strategy #resourcemanagement #rpg

You know how normally in video games, the player is tasked with saving the world from utter annihilation? Well, Bastion does things a bit differently and starts right after that moment in time, with the player being tasked to saving what is left of his world, following a cataclysmic event.
