After moving for a job, I realized what I had at Ontario Place so I figured I would write a quick review. Every place seems to have some negatives but overall, I was really pleased with my one bedroom apartment. For me, the pros and cons were:
+ The living space was divided up well, with plenty of space for an entertainment center in the living room.
+ The staff is friendly.
+ There was a decent amount of storage space.
+ The complex looks nice.
+ The garages were a good size. Wide entrances to pull into and lots of space for "garage stuff."
± The apartments are near the highway, which is convenient, but I lived on the other end of the complex and I could still hear road noise in bed at night.
± Whenever I needed maintenance, it was done quickly but work wasn't always done very well. At least a couple times, I ended up tweaking their repair work, like when a towel rack was installed with one end clearly an inch or two from being level.
± Extended basic cable service is included as a fee on your rent. You can upgrade service by calling the cable company but you will always paid for at least extended basic. I would much rather watch "TV" through NetFlix or Hulu.
- The apartments are not very bright. A sliding glass door and a tiny window in the bedroom is all there is.
- I thought rent was a little steep once you figure in cable, washer/dryer rental and a garage. Not horrible though.
- It can be loud at night during the summer if people are throwing parties and sneaking into the pool after hours, which happened a few times.
- The pool is a humorous 3' 6".
