I have never had a negative experience with property management companies, but unfortunately, Stone Creek/CIP, to put frankly, has made my life hell. The non-responses to maintenance issues do not bother me at all. It is this story that deems this review necessary:
My roommate and I had plans to move AFTER our lease ended, but after a conversation with the leasing office, they informed us that they had a long waiting list, that our unit was the most popular, and therefore they would have absolutely no problem filling it. We trusted them. After they informed us they found tenants to replace us, we made plans to move across the country. We turned in our keys and agreed to let them keep our deposit for technically "breaking the lease," since we were relieved that they found replacements. We both signed new separate leases, and then 2 weeks into the month where the new tenants should have already replaced us, they informed us that they are no longer replacing us, and that we are responsible for the month of rent. However, they assured us that this was a fluke and they found new tenants who will move in NEXT month. Three weeks into the next month, we receive a similar voicemail letting us know that another pair of tenants backed out last second. The cycle repeats itself: when the next month came around, they informed us that the new people will be moving in the following month, etc. They did this so we wouldn't ask for keys back to the place or have access to live there, and they could still collect rent plus miscellaneous fees ($200 for taking Electricity service out of my name after they told me new tenants were moving in). We are now going on our third month since moving out and have had to pay rent the entire time we were gone. They don't answer the phone when we call; they just leave voice mails and then don't pick up when we return their call. I am an easy-going tenant, but don't trust the character of this company in particular! They are not working with you, they are trying to collect as much cash as they possibly can in whatever way they can. It is unfortunate that I had to leave this review, but my intentions are only to help readers out who are thinking about working with them.
