Good to see someone working for reconciliation shame so many seem intent on keeping hostility alive!
What a sadness then that late in the evening someone showed me a headline in the Daily Mail saying that I had apologised for the RAF bombing the Nazis. No honest reading of what I said in the church and on the BBC afterwards could come anywhere near ...

Betty Boothroyd: "the Church has a far wider reach than any political party”.
Perhaps good reading for those who've forgotten the root of so much of what is good.
You have to admit, when the Church of England wants to land a punch, it does it in the nicest possible way. Last night’s launch at Church House of On Rock or Sand, a report on values in public life edited by John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York, was an example of how to do moral outrage without compromising good manners. The place was bristling with MPs and former ministers, former Speaker Betty Boothroyd and a bearded bishop in sandals.

Needs to be said!!
A Brighton accident and emergency (A&E) consultant accused the Prime Minister David Cameron of lying about the NHS in an open letter. Rob Galloway, a doctor at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, also said that A&E was in crisis rather than just busy. He published his open letter to Mr Cameron and ...

A Prayer for the new year
A couple of days ago I posted a liturgy for Holy Name day to remind us that the events of Jesus life should be part of what sets the rhythm for our year. However, like most of us the rhythm of my l...

Looking for a reasoned response is always going to be tough!
I have issued three public challenges (not to mention several private ones) to the more than 215,000 followers on my Facebook page for atheists to provide specific qualified evidence for Darwinian evolution. Each time, my challenge has been met with ...

The hotel itself was not very well signposted, it was a bit of a challenge to find! However the stay was excellent, room was clean and well presented, staff helpful and courteous. For me (at 6'2") the Bed was a little short! Worth noting that you should get staff to validate your parking or you may receive a ticket from Moto. However if you do the staff will help you get that cancelled. It would be useful to have that flagged by staff as you arrive rather than have the ticket arrive a week later and have to go through the business of getting it cancelled.

Great staff and a great space for some time out. Now they accept Starbucks cards too even better. Can be quite busy at times but there's a good range of varied seating and the Free wifi and having power sockets by most tables means it's a good place to catch up on some work too...
