Welcome to the School of Nursing Facebook page. This page is intended for professional information about nursing, Duquesne and related topics. We invite you to Like us and stay current with the School of Nursing.
The purpose of the School of Nursing is to prepare nurses to practice professional nursing to meet the dynamic health care needs of individuals, families, groups, and communities. Faculty facilitate the education of students in the art and science of nursing to provide ethical, holistic, culturally competent, and population-based care in collaboration with a variety of health care systems.
The School of Nursing is a widely recognized pioneer in nursing education, having created Pennsylvania’s first B.S.N. program in 1937 and the nation’s first online nursing Ph.D. program in 1997. Today, our school is recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence, and our graduate program has been ranked nationally by US News & World Report.
Our nursing programs truly prepare students to succeed. In fact, we were proud to earn a 100 percent pass rate on the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Board Exam for the 2011 graduates of our Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
