Things that define me: artist, free thinker, iconoclast, curious, Pinoy, brown gay, and autistic, but most of all, just being Chris.

I Lack Of Smiles
You dare tell me to smile –when they and I can’t reconcile! Because the others don’t see me as one of their brothers But rather something that they soak and clean in lather My soul fits in a bowl of shame My heart’s tearing apart My everything– it’s shatter...

The Day
I want to see the day when
I can look at others in the eye. I want to see the day that
I can actually be myself. I want to see the day
where I don't need to dream for comfort. I want to see the day when
I can proudly say "Hooray!" I want to know that

Closet Dreams

trapped me. The pain that never goes away, it seems to add up every
day It’s something that’s too much for me - no I don’t want
to let you see! It’s everlasting either way no matter what you do or say....

Today is Martin Luther King Day, so I decided to write a post in honor of his legacy in social justice in relation to the recent death of Leelah Alcorn.  Unless we find and seek justice for all individuals who have lost their lives or suffered due to discrimination, there will always be work to do for progress.

Attention Requited
Who do you think you are To be my great desire? To tell me I’m not good enough As our love ain’t on fire? What fool do you take me for To tell me that I need you? To say to me my happiness, To yours it’s secondary! The lonely days. The lonely nights. I’ll f...

Yes, this is why we need autism acceptance.  As both an individual with autism and a vegetarian, I'm horrified at the fact that my humanity is basically being questioned by a group that apparently loves both humans and animals.  Their way of thinking is no better than that of Suzanne Atanus, a Republican House Candidate from Illinois who claimed that both tornadoes and autism are "God's punishment" for gay rights.

I mean, as much as I'd love to blame my autism on my own level of gayness (and dairy consumption), this doesn't even represent reality or scientific evidence and in having been in the closet myself, the sort of stigma that surrounds autism is exactly why we need autism acceptance (among the other aspects acceptance necessary in our current society).
