This palace of Catalan music is a work of art. It was designed by a Catalan star architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and inaugurated in 1908 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Over the years it has hosted thousands of concerts and is still very active as a concert hall for all types of music. Nowadays it is the most lavish place in Barcelona to go and watch Flamenco. They have great shows on here at least twice per week. Obviously not the typical place for that style of music, it's not from Catalunya, but you do get a 2 for 1 offering, both the music and a wonderful building. There is a somewhat short paid tour of the building available several times daily if you want to know more about it and its history. If you don't want to pay for getting inside you can actually just go to the café instead. You won't get to see the hall itself, with its amazing stained glass roof, but you will get to see some of the architect's unique designs, ideas and principles, and if you want to, the toilets. Btw, those are for free and you don't have to buy anything to use them.

A fascinating concert hall. Acoustic, interior decoration and all other things were excellent.

Went on the tour here which was short but interesting and gave some good background on the designs in the main hall, which is very impressive. Cafe was good value and staff were very friendly. Will definitely try to see a concert here next time I visit Barcelona!

It's very beautiful. Not as organic and natural as Gaudi's work, but you can see where modernism was going. Tour is a bit rushed I felt. The 'drop' is amazing and it is best to visit when you have at least a bit of sunlight to see the effect of natural lighting. On the expensive side... It is a private building though so to be expected. I would recommend a concert/event there but during a matinee (during the day) to fully appreciate the natural lighting!

The space is gorgeous and extremely unique. Unfortunately, I got tickets to a show, where there was an hour of presentations before the music ever began - I would have expected the ticket sellers to have mentioned that about the show.
