Very true! It's even less fun to join a meeting when it is 2 am in Thailand to chat with others in Britain and America.

Portland is so hip, they almost did not invite me. But at the recent XOXO conference in Portland, I talked about the common dilemmas that face creators, and how I have dealt with them in 50 years of making stuff. After a quick recap of my creative journey, I get to a 1,000 true fans, and making new definitions of success. It's different than most talks I do. A little more personal, and a lot more artistic. And, yes, I talk about the Cool Tools book --- which you really should have!

社交分享是互联网的进化还是退化?

1. 把evernote里的私有笔记分享出来,产生一个孤立的的公共网页;

2. 把原本一个公共网页可以承载的内容塞进一个长微博,在封闭的时间线上流动;

3. 把原本该在公共网页上发布的内容复制进微信公共帐号,又在微博上分享它的孤立网页版本......

分享方便了,互联结构呢?

+Yb Xing 说的对。前几天我在微博上分享了一个例子:
http://www.weibo.com/1667781677/Bkbp7l2Io?mod=weibotime

Lean Global - a new concept predicting the future of globalization

A month ago I watched a video titled Lean Global on Digital Garage website. I was so excited that I met this fantastic idea.

"We are now in the era where startups are able to deliver services and technologies that were only capable by large corporations or in Silicon Valley. As a result, agility ? or the ability to adapt to drastic changes in the environment ? is becoming more important for companies than strategy or power. This trend, which could be described as the "Lean Innovation," is expected to involve every industry on a global basis. "

Though it was coined for describing Digital Garage's business strategy, it could be applied to understand the new stage of globalization. If we want to thrive in a world where open culture, lean connections, collective making, innovation networks, the rise of local changemakers are new normal, we should follow the direction of Lean Global.

These things have already happened. I watched many Lean Global stories in the past years.

Open Brand Movement

TED leaded this movement with their amazing TEDx open brand program. Launched in 2009, TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading." It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. As of January 2014, TEDx talk library contained some 30,000 films presentations from over 130 countries. In March 2013, eight TEDx events were being organised every day, up from five in June 2012, in 133 countries.

Following the success of TEDx, Startup Weekend, Pecha Kucha, V-Day, Social Media Breakfast, Creative Morning and other non-profit projects joined the movement. Even business giant such as Google also adopts it with Google Developer Groups chapter program.

*

I believes on the world is transforming from Hierarchy order to Network order. This big shift brings the following principles to make Lean Global happening.

- Open culture
- Lean connections
- Collective making
- Innovation networks
- The rise of local changemakers

 Leveraging signature strengths is also one of the secrets of the most creative people.

So how can you put this to use? Via UPenn happiness expert Martin Seligman’s book, Authentic Happiness:

- Identify your signature strengths.
- Choose work that lets you use them every day.
- Recraft your present work to use your signature strengths more.
- If you are the employer, choose employees whose signature strengths mesh with the work they will do. If you are a manager, make room to allow employees to recraft the work within the bounds of your goals.

Seven years ago, Internet activist Aaron Swartz convinced Lawrence Lessig to take up the fight for political reform. A year after Swartz's tragic death, Lessig continues his campaign to free US politics from the stranglehold of corruption. In this fiery, deeply personal talk, he calls for all citizens to engage, and offers a heartfelt reminder to never give up hope.
