Well, today is an anniversary celebration. Five years ago, today, Pam and I began our work with the church here in Wagoner. It doesn’t seem possible that five years have gone by since that...

TRUE PROMISES

God has not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our life through;

God has not promised
Sun without the rain,
Joy without sorrow
Peace without pain.

But God has promised
Strength for the day.
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way;

Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.

TOO BUSY
Too busy to read the Bible,
Too busy to wait and pray.
Too busy to speak out kindly
To someone by the way!
Too busy to care and struggle,
To think of the life to come.
Too busy building mansions,
To plan for the heavenly home.
Too busy to help a brother
Who faces the winter blast.
Too busy to share his burden,
When self in the balance is cast.
Too busy for all that is holy
On earth beneath the sky;
Too busy to serve the Master,
But not too busy to die.

ARE CHRISTIANS SPECIAL?
AS CHILDREN OF GOD WE ARE:

● Members of His Body (1 Cor. 12:13)
● Branches of the Vine (John 15:5)
● Stones in the Building (Eph. 2:19-22)
● A bride for the Groom (Eph. 5:25-27)
● Priests in the new generation
(1 Peter 2:9)
● A dwelling of the Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19)
Along with all of this, Christians possess every spiritual blessing possible. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” (Eph. 1:3).
This is the gift offered to the lowliest sinner on earth. Who could make such an offer but God? Who else, but God could present to Christians such glories!

The apostle Peter describes a true Christian in 2 Peter 1:1-11. A true Christian’s character will consist of:

FAITH

MORALITY

KNOWLEDGE

SELF-CONTROL

PERSEVERANCE

GODLINESS

BROTHERLY KINDNESS

LOVE

So, do these things describe your true character? Are these the things people see when they look at you?

The following is an excellent article by brother Steve Harbison who preaches for the church in Hugo. It should make us all stop and think about who we are and where we are as Christians. “I...

WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY?

In the home, it is kindness;
In business, it is honesty;
In society, it is courtesy;
In work, it is fairness;
Toward the unfortunate, it is pity;
Toward the weak, it is help;
Toward the wicked, it is resistance;
Toward the strong, it is trust;
Toward the penitent, it is forgiveness;
Toward the fortunate, it is congratulations;
Toward God, it is reverence, love and obedience.

I have been using Dr. Rice for several years. I have bought several pairs of glasses from her that I love! She is also the only one who has been able to completely correct my very bad vision with contacts. Different doctors I'd been to were unable to get my bad astigmatism corrected with lenses well enough to drive at night so I was constantly seeing huge halos around lights while driving. She and her staff are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend her to anyone needing glasses or contacts. My husband also is very happy with the way she has corrected his vision and he actually enjoys wearing the glasses he has gotten from her over the past few years.
