I grew up in Indiana. A normal midwest kid of a divorced family. I had a lot though, friends, video games, basketball, and a drive to learn that has taken me well into my adult life.
After my undergraduate college days at Purdue I moved to Arizona for a change in lifestyle, climate, and to begin my career. After working in Mechanical Engineering consulting for 9 years I was itching to go into business for myself. In 2003, I went back to school and graduated from ASU with my MBA. I had always had interests in entrepreneurship through college and as a kid but always struggled with the courage part. That leads me to the next major part of my life.
In late 2003, after getting out of a long relationship I met the sweetest, cutest, and all out funnest girl on earth. Amanda
, changed my world in so many ways and it was obvious that she really wasn't trying to. In 2006, Amanda and I were married and the next we took a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica. On the flight back to the states, Amanda told me about this household assistant, maid service, and professional organizers compan
y that she wanted to start. This ended up being what is now Moxie Girl
which I am co-owner of with Amanda.
In 2012, after about 4 years of working directly with Amanda in Moxie Girl we decided that we personally needed more diversification in our finances. We had all our finance eggs in the Moxie Girl
basket. Plus we realized that maybe working together day in and day out was not the best move for us as our driven personalities sometimes conflict with each other.
That leads me to my most recent chapter, CleanASpace
, an e-commerce website and web application for the residential cleaning industry providing search, schedule, payments, and messaging. Working on Moxie Girl taught me a lot in the industry and a lot that needed improvement. CleanASpace
is an attempt at making the industry more convenient and easier to use for consumers and service providers alike.
I have been extremely fortunate and blessed in my life so far. I am excited to see what struggles and challenges will show up and all the bright spots that will shine.
