On the one hand, I find it funny that Google killed off a product, Reader, which seems to have been used almost exclusively by people who write about Google (reporters and bloggers). So that product got more press than most others.
But on the other, what is especially ironic about this announcement of Google "Keep", is that I must have been one of the only people who actually used Google's previous note taking service, Google Notebook, which they killed a few years ago and forced all users to move to Docs (now Drive). That was my first taste of what happens if Google (or Company X) decides to shut down a service I depend on even though it's free. I certainly won't bother trying this new Keep service as a result of my experience with Notebook.
I wonder if GMail will still be around in 10 years?
