Okay folks, I'm doing some work with a health and fitness start-up and the team is keen to get insights on runners. If you run - whether it's just socially and occasionally, hard-core ultra-running, or something in between, please could you take a few minutes to fill out this survey - the team will be really grateful - feel free to share on, the more the merrier!  http://goo.gl/forms/U20vJnbrLd

Sky Running UK shaping up nicely.

It’s a match made in heaven, an iconic UK brand partnering Skyrunning UK in the formative years of what will become an iconic UK race series. Born on the fells and the mountains of the UK, for the ...

Hey, it's been a while since I last asked you all to sponsor me (it was three years ago since you ask!). Well, that time has come around again. I'm doing two crazy runs and I would like to tell you why. Maybe you would like to part with a little cash for a good cause.

A quick thanks to you and your UK distribution team at Lyon for sorting out a replacement within 48 hours for my MYO XP that had stopped working (whilst out of warranty) because, "we think that the cable shouldn't do that". Customer service and belief in product live on! Thanks!

I post pretty regularly but usually its targeted stuff.  I have a number of circles for different types of running.  I share stuff about that more than anything else really.

I'm running 100k tomorrow, ascending and descending about 16,000 ft. Really looking forward to it! All I need now is to raise a little more for the National Ankylosing Spondilitis Society. www.justgiving.com/raj100k if you want to chip in. Thanks!

Its not very often that I get asked to review an academic paper (like never!) but I was asked to and I did and Elaine Rudwell Kasket's article entitled "Access to the Digital Self in Life and Death: Privacy in the Context of Posthumously Persistent Facebook Profiles" has just been published. If you have the time and you are interested you can find the article by following this link: http://script-ed.org/?page_id=32

You will need more than one cup of tea to get you through it, but it throws up lots of interesting questions and certainly makes for interesting discussion.

Thanks go to Elaine for involving me in the process!

So very different from any paper I read every day  (no formulas?! :-)), so I struggled to find the focal point, and I am not used to papers that end with questions. However "Privacy of the individual, or privacy of the relationship? " is a good one.
And "res digitalis" is an interesting concept.
Thank you for sharing

Hey Reuben, good to meet you too!  It was an interesting day.  Yes, learnt loads but was more impressive is that it wasn't in the areas that I thought I would learn stuff.  I thought Simon from Torq was great and it was the detail that really interested me there.  Small facts like the amount of ATP released from fat as compared to carb for instance.  I wish that Ultra Stu had a bit more time.  I would like to have heard more off the slides that he skipped through regarding nutrition from his point of view.  BTW great photos!

+Rich Roll You are absolutely right, slow running drives you nuts!  Does it ever get better (mentally)?

So here's my challenge of the day. I have just taken delivery of a Suunto Ambit.  The software for managing it is online.  The interface for connecting you to the server comes in two flavours, Mac or Microsoft.  But I run Linux (Ubuntu).  I do have a computer running XP which I have fallen back on, but if anyone has any insight into how I can connect my main computer (my laptop) which runs the latest release of Ubuntu to Movescount.com I would love to hear it!

Thanks!!

Let's get this out of the way - the rooms are small. But then when I go to New York, I go to get out and see the city, not to sit in a hotel room. The Belnord has got to be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been to. Probably the cleanest. The bed we had was one of the most comfortable hotel beds that I have slept in. We stayed there for 8 nights and the staff were helpful at all times of day and night. It is also in a great location. Happily recommend this hotel to anyone.
