Tony commented on MailOnline.co.uk: Not a Fad: The increase in interest in a Vegan Lifestyle in the UK since 2012 has been phenomenal. It doubled in two years. Then doubled in a year. Then it just doubled again in a few weeks as Veganuary 2017 kicked off. VegfestUK has seen a dramatic increase in visitors at it's Vegan Exhibitions and conferences despite many other organisations starting many similar festivals in cities and towns all over the UK. Even vegan festivals deep in hunting and shooting farming country such as Lyndhurst in the New Forest see visitor numbers in their thousands paying £3 a pop just to do some vegan shopping. This year VegfestUK is organising it's first Vegan Trade Show which has had a very excited reception. There really is no stopping veganism now there are a host of new netflix documentaries on their way set to spill the beans on the truth about the food industry, health and atrocities against animals and the environment

CaptainJamesTeaCook commented on MailOnline.co.uk: Swayed by facts about health the environment and animal welfare interest in a vegan lifestyle (not 'Dairy Free') has doubled overtaking vegetarianism and gluten free (see Google Trends). The wealth of scientific evidence that proves we need to eat more fruit and veg is irrefutable. The Government should be spending it's money on promoting and subsidising omega 3 rich and vitamin and mineral rich fruit and vegetables not spending tax payers money on subsidising multinational agro business to sell more food we don't need. Obesity, Diabetes 2, Heart Disease, Stroke, many cancers and dementia are predominantly due to a lack of vegetables not cheese and milk. People fortunately are waking up to Govt Cronyism
