Everyone knows that children are precious cargo! This new bill in Florida will require children up to age 5 to be restrained in child safety seats. Smaller bodies need all the protection they can get. Hopefully, this law will be passed so more lives can be saved. http://bit.ly/1i429Ag

Now that sunshine and fair weather is upon us, please be careful with boating safety as the water season begins. Boating accidents can and do happen every single year in San Diego. Make sure you’re not one of them. Visit http://www.dbw.ca.gov/ The Division of Boating and Waterways for more information on boating rules and regulations including registration and classes.

Technology never stops! Google's Self-Driving Car Already Drives Better Than You Do http://slate.me/1nH6zVX If all cars become entirely computer-powered, more accidents can be reduced -- as Google argues. Initial results look promising.  Check it out and let us know what you think. Do automated cars stand a chance?
You’re driving down a busy suburban street when a bicyclist suddenly raises his arm and weaves out in front of you. You tap the brakes, only for the bicyclist to change his mind and settle back into his bike lane. Then, just as you’re speeding up again, he weaves in...

Although plenty of accidents occur daily in San Diego and throughout the nation, cars are becoming safer and that means a potentially saved life in the face of misfortune. The latest auto show in New York had some surprises in store for car owners. Let’s hope technology continues to advance so more lives can be saved while injuries are reduced. Today, please drive safely!  http://bit.ly/1nh720z

Here’s an excellent opinion letter on car safety worth reading. Tell me, do you agree with it?  At the Law Offices of Michael Pines, we have long been proponents of increased safety regulations for our vehicles. The New York Times sheds light in this well-written (and short) opinion letter. In the aftermath of the recent GM ignition recall, the letter makes good timing, reminding us all that safety should be the number one priority on our roadways. http://nyti.ms/Ou1SiZ
