I don't know what the hype over the fried chicken is about. The thigh meat was pink as I got closer to the bone. The staff was pretty apologetic about it and got me a new one, but that one was still pink as well. They also threw out the chicken breast I wasn't done with. I didn't think much of the seasoning either. Actually the place I can always count on for consistently good fried chicken is at Publix, a grocery chain in Atlanta. I'd come back to this place to try other dishes. Plus the staff and service is pretty good too.

I've been coming here for years, purely for their brisket. If you eat there, you better love pigs and checkers! :D I love how they have sauce and rolls of napkins at the table. I particularly love their mustard sauce. It's divine. I get brisket platters or the sandwich. In terms of sides, I love their Fries, Mac 'n Cheese and Sweet Potatoes. I love coming here when I'm craving meat. Although seating is limited, it's great to come here for a causal meal with a small group of friends. Plus, Soju! :D

Pretty good BBQ for the city. It works when you're looking for a fix of that greasy, tasty, meaty goodness. Seems a bit over-priced to me, but I'd give it a go. Genuine atmosphere and very nice people. (4 stars in the context of the BBQ offering in SF)

My Take: not the best BBQ in town | Went For: Saturday lunch | The Vibe: carnivores welcomed! | Special Dish: get anything and add a healthy portion of their BBQ sauce | Avoid Their: Brisket, it was a bit dry | Price Point: most combos are under $20.00 | The Service: The staff at the order counter was awesome, but the order took about 30 minutes to come out | Reservations: n/a | FYI, FRIENDS: Maybe I shouldn't too be harsh since SF isn't known for great BBQ, anyways? -- Eat up, Kimmie

This is one of few places that I enjoy for BBQ in San Francisco. It's not spotless inside, but I do not imagine a BBQ restaurant is easy to keep completely clean. I have never felt it was unsanitary though. The food to me is great, and the service.... Well, it's okay.

Some of the best BBQ I've had, and definitely some of the best in the Bay. The meat is always perfectly cooked and the desserts are amazing. I'm not the biggest fan of their sauces, but luckily the meat by itself tastes great. The southern star with mac n cheese is a good place to start.
