It's likely that there is no one "perfect" method to encrypt data for transit and storage in the cloud. Not unless you fully trust SSL and the cloud storage service you are going to use. But you probably wouldn't be here if you trusted both of them. And all but one the methods I know of has a salient flaw. So the first step is to pick your poison.

In Windows 10, "Safe Mode" functionality is more powerful, and offers some useful features. In addition to letting you restart in safe mode with or without networking, for example, you can also disable the operating system's refusal to install a device driver that has not been digitally signed by the vendor. This is especially handy if, say, you're trying to install Windows 10 (or upgrade to it) on relatively old hardware for which modern, signed drivers do not exist.
Since the very early days, Windows has had a "safe mode" startup option. This loads a minimal set of features and drivers, which means that there's a good chance of an otherwise unresponsive system starting up. You can then, so the theory goes, fix any problems (such as removing broken device drivers) before restarting again in full-on mode.

Twuffer is a web site that lets you enter the text of a tweet, as well as a date and time, and have the system submit it on your behalf when the time comes. Security and authentication is taken care of properly, so that the site can post to your account without you having to divulge your Twitter credentials. And in my tests, it worked just fine.
Oh, the Twuffer name? Apparently it stands for Twitter Buffer.

Unlike most other security software vendors, Sophos mostly sells to the corporate market and doesn't bother trying to sell copies to individual home users.
It does, though, give copies away. For free.
Yup. If you want to use the same antivirus software at home that big companies use, you can get it for free.
If you haven't heard of Sophos antivirus, it's probably because you don't work for a large company. Unlike most other security software vendors, Sophos mostly sells to the corporate market and doesn't bother trying to sell copies to individual home users. It does, though, give copies away. Android's increasing popularity has led to increased security threats, ranging from common malware to advanced Phishing and ID theft techniques. In order to help Android users to deal with these issues, many security software companies have launched their own security apps, but paying nearly 30 bucks a year for a complete mobile security app doesn't sound like a good deal, especially when there's a wide choice of free security apps that will cover all your needs including a group of complete security suites with Anti-Theft capabilities.

World Wide Science is an online portal that lets you search millions of academic papers and journal articles that cover subjects such as IT, medicine, physics, chemistry and lots more. If you want in-depth knowledge about a particular topic, this is the place to find it.
Although not all referenced articles are freely downloadable as full text (sometimes you have to pay if you want to read anything except the summary), there are still loads of full articles to read. The availability of a full downloadable copy is clearly indicated in the search results.

Do you know when the absolute worst time to think about backups is? It’s the moment when the tech support guy tells you your hard drive has died and your data is lost.
The free online backup services will save your files off-site to the cloud. If your hard drive crashes, your files are not lost. Your first line of defense should be an external hard drive to back up your hard drive or a jump drive for your documents.
An online backup provides 24/7 access to your files from any Internet connected computer, smartphone or tablet devices. Data storage in the cloud is one of the quickest means to data archiving and recovery.
One error that the free online backups will not help is recovery of a file a split second after you delete that important presentation or cherished photo. Most free services do not save deleted files but write over the old file.

WhatDog is a web site that will identify the breed of a dog from a photograph. There's even a downloadable app, if you need to be able to identify dogs while you're away from your PC.
It's been a while since I brought you news of something frivolous in the online world, so here's something to make up for recent omissions. WhatDog is a web site that will identify the breed of a dog from a photograph. There's even a downloadable app, if you need to be able to identify dogs while you're away from your PC.

The freeware products in this review are alternative to the Windows Print-Screen key and  cover most of the following useful features and functions which users might find they need:
- Capture full screen or freely selected screen areas;
- Auto detect windows and control objects such as button, box, toolbar, tab, etc.;
- Snap scrolling windows, allow delayed captures;
- Auto adapt to screen settings, such as custom text size;
- Re-size screen shots or create thumbnails and other extra features.

If I want to download YouTube videos to my Android device and expect to get a good video download app from the Play Store, I am mostly out of luck as Google disallows such apps to be hosted in its Play Store based on its terms of service. If you’re like me looking for a YouTube downloader for Android devices, you will need to walk out from the Play Store and get it from other places.
The good news is there're a plethora of such apps available either directly from developers' websites or any other third party app stores.
