SEO related question here...
We are on a new CMS platform that won't allow us to setup 301 redirects on new sites we're building.  We do have the option of using an API and we can make 'duplicates' of old page URLs. So should we 1) setup those URLs for 200 server response and then redirect with JavaScript or Meta Redirect or 2) allow those pages to go 404 server response and then redirect with JavaScript or Meta Redirect?  Not sure what the appropriate setup should be.

Introducing Insights for Google+ pages

To date, millions of brands and organizations have created Google+ pages to interact with their audience on Google. We’ve seen President Obama and +The White House, for example, take a virtual road trip across the country, answering questions from everyday Americans (http://goo.gl/kJBlKa).
