We know it has been a long week for everyone but wanted to take a couple minutes to share a story of this weeks events.

For background information, when we begin working for a new client, we address the reported problem areas. Then we take a step back for a bird's eye view of their entire system. This allows us to analyze and audit the entire system with a fresh perspective.

As an example, Monday morning, upon greeting our new managed services client at their place of business, we were informed they were having trouble with their phone system and requested an upgrade. They noticed their network had slowed down and there were issues accessing shared documents on the server. Before sitting down at the keyboard, we tested their Ethernet system and the primary links or backbone of the network. The tests revealed that more than 80% of the workstations had faulty cables and there was a loop back short on one of the switches. By fixing these issues we resolved some of the initial network errors that were slowing the system down.

The result was an immediate improvement in network performance.

We went on to make some changes to the domain server. We were able to meet the client's performance needs. This prepared the network for the new VoIP phone system and avoided the costly purchase of new hardware. The client, who thought new servers would be needed, was more than delighted to hear that they wouldn't be necessary.

This isn't always the case, however it is always our goal to meet our clients' needs without breaking the bank. Our unique approach and attention to detail result in maximum value to our clients.

P.S. As we left the building, we thought we could hear the feint sound of the accountants throwing a party.

When do you notice performance issues on your network?

We spoke with a medical office today about their technology needs.  I asked them when they did their last HIPAA Annual Risk Analysis?  They responded that they do their annual OSHA/ HIPAA training with their employees at the beginning of the year.
Then I asked them when they perform the Annual Risk Analysis on their technology as required under HIPAA.  To which, they responded, "We have to do it on our technology, too? Our IT company didn't tell us about that."
How many frontline medical offices out there are working without the benefit of a Managed Service Provider that is familiar with HIPAA protection laws and requirements? Are they adequately protecting their patients' information? How many offices may be at risk for losing a portion of their Medicare payments if they do not have a current Risk Analysis for their facility?
According to the HIPAA/ OCR website, statistically speaking, more than 80% of medical facilities may be at risk.  There are only 21 days left in the year, is your Risk Analysis complete?

Did you know that with a Managed Services Provider it’s in everyone’s best interest for the client to enjoy the highest level of reliability?

This is true for several reasons including less breakdowns and more up-time mean less repair costs for the provider that also result in more productivity for the client.

It's win-win and far superior to the break down fix/recover model of most provider plans.

Consolidate your tech services into one Predictable Monthly Operating Expense.
