In October of 2006, I participated in a group therapy at The Dreaming House in Teotihuacan, Mexico. I was blessed to be among a truly beautiful group of people who had come to find healing, self-discovery and peace. As one of the only Christians in the group, I was sometimes the only one who didn’t share an affinity with the New Age ideas of most of the other participants. There was much talk of spirit guides and random energy forces in the universe while I have a more biblical view of life and my existence. On the third morning, I emerged for breakfast and one of the participants commented on how this was the third day in a row I’d worn pink. I responded, “Well, Barbie is my spirit guide.” Hilarious laughter erupted and Lee McCormick, our esteemed leader said, “You should write a book!” So, here I am, almost 5 years later, sharing my ideas of the Universal Feminine and I want to dedicate this blog to Lee, who instead of mocking my pink sparkly-ness encouraged me to embrace it and explore it.
In no way is the content herein meant to be in contradiction to anything Christian or Biblical. I simply wanted to share my thoughts about femininity and being a woman and why it is such a beautiful blessing and a gift to be female. Christ is ultimately and eternally my spirit guide. But Barbie has offered me a lot of insight to being a girl and that is all this book is meant to address. I hope you will enjoy it and that it will encourage you to embrace and explore your own feminine or your feminine friends.
