Good news everyone!
Please spread the word: not only is Google keeping CalDAV (an open standard for calendar data) open, but we're opening CardDAV (an open standard for contact info) to everyone. I heard complaints from people when Google decided to make CalDAV a partner-only API, so I'm glad that not only will CalDAV stay open, but we're doing even more to open CardDAV. Inquisitive Person: What do you do?
Me: I fight spam.
IP: Like email spam? That's cool.
Me: No, web spam.
IP: Wait, what's that?
Me: [Insert vague explanation of web spam and how we work to fight it]
IP: Oh... ok? walks away confused
