I've been looking forward to returning to Houston ever since I read about three new coffeehouses...

Unfortunately, my excitement might have been premature. Yesterday I hit PJ's, and I did not even bother to add it to my site, because it appeared to be little more than a Starbucks close, with blends, no single origin, no pour over, etc, etc.

Today I am at Equilibrium Social House, and I was a bit disappointed that they did not carry any of the well-known artisinal roasts from the city, or even the region, let alone other states. They use Java Pura, and while the batch brewed Costa Rica was not awful, I had hoped for more.

HOWEVER, this place does have a Gold Cup machine. They have not started using it, but once they do, maybe I'll be able to get a better cup of joe.
