Even before Perq opened in 2013, owner Keith Zolner exhibited some excellent customer serwice when I pulled up one morning in March, walked in and said "hellooooo".

Even though not yet open for business, Keith eagerly spoke to me about his coffee and made me a pour over, and I have been looking forward to returning ever since.

It took me two years, and I had to overnight in Sarasota instead of heading towards Miami, but as soon as I walked in and saw the custom banners displaying the coffee menu, which included Coava, I knew that I had made the right decision.

Keith wasn't there, but the two baristas who were on seemed knowledgeable about the coffee and glad to talk about it, and besides the cup of Coava Kilenso, I was able to try a small sample of the heart Reko.

Perq will become a mandatory stop whenever I make a run through that part of Florida.
